|

Hello All:
Is there a way to hide selected grid lines? In Excel one could highlight an area and select a Fill Color, i.e; white to hide the grid lines. In Calc I can't seem to do this.
Thanks

Thanks Steve:
I am able to format the borders. What I can't seem to do is color fill the default gray grid lines to disappear in a selected area.
Here are two screen shots of what I'm trying to explain:

Sorry I was not plain enough.
If you choose black as a color for your borders you will see black grid lines, if you do not have a black background; in which case you woulf think there are no grid lines.
Change the color of your borders to white with a white background and you may not see them. There still there. _________________ Steve ~ Tennessee USA

Hi Steve:
Still a nogo. Below is what I did.
Line Style:
Background:
In Excel one could simply highlight an area, click the background fill color (in this case I would select white) and voila' the default gray grid lines were gone. |

To achieve the same effect in Calc...
1. Go Tools|Options to bring up the Options dialog.
2. Click the little + button to expand OpenOffice.org Calc then click on View.
3. Under the Visual aids heading remove the tick from the Grid lines option.
4. OK to close the dialog. This removes all of the grid lines on all of the sheets.
6. On your sheet, press Ctrl+A to select all cells.
7. Go Format|Cells to bring up the Format cells dialog.
8. Click the Borders tab.
9. Adjust the Style and Colour eg 0.05 pt continuous Light grey.
10. Adjust the Line arrangement eg click the 4th Default button, the one that looks like a 4-pane window.
11. OK to close the dialog. This applies grid-like borders to all cells on that sheet.
12. Select the range of cells where you don't want grid-like borders then remove those borders by clicking the top-left button on the Borders toolbar that pops-up when you click the Borders button on the Formatting toolbar. No need to use White fill.
