|
|
hi Guys,
I am new at OppenOffice base and I have a problem with base and my sql ?although I choose the "Connect to an Existing Database" function from the Database Wizard to connect to an existing database in mysql, but base prompts me to crate another new database which I don't' mean it every time!
could you guys let me know how I can stop this?
I just want to connect to my database without creating any new one!
Best Regards |

That's OK. Your data are still on the MySQL server. You get a database document which connects to that database allowing you to add frontend tools (queries, forms, reports) to work with that database in the context of this office suite. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

How to stop creating the frontend?
Don't use Base.
You can work with your MySQL on the command line. _________________ Rest in peace, oooforum.org

did you get it to connect to the mysql database
It will make an open office base document that connects to the database you name this and save it then next time open that document
if you open openoffice base it will always prompt to create new db
find where you saved the database last time will be an .odb and open that it will rememember your connection and your queries forms etc |
