Hi folks.
Does anyone know of a way of viewing a list of OpenOffice bugs sorted by the number of votes they've received? I can't seem to find a way of doing this. If it's not possible, that raises the obvious question of what the point of voting is? That would be an apt question, given how long some of the bugs have been open.
I'm particularly bothered by 11174 at the moment (cross references getting mangled in master documents.) It was opened over 8 and a half years ago... I'd like to see where 83 votes sits on the grand scheme of things.
Obviously you can't knock what you get for free - I love OpenOffice and would like to get more involved, but it's frustrating looking at the bug tracker when there are issues which seem to contain more bickering than progress towards solving the problems.
Best regards,
Richard. |

Sorted, no, it is not possible
But you can list the voted issues.
Here is a link to query reports which are UNCONFIRMED or NEW or STARTED and which received at least 30 votes.
The result is currently a report of more than 150 issues. You will see that you are not alone...
If you don't see a column "Votes", look at the end of the report :
click on link "Change columns", check those you want (e.g. column Votes).
The only problem is that a csv or tab-delimited report does not produce the selected columns, so you cannot use OpenOffice Calc to sort. _________________ Bernard

Thanks B Marcelly,
That's just the sort of thing I was looking for. Turns out you can click on the 'votes' header and it will sort them by the number of votes, which is useful!
It's interesting to see what people are voting for, although there is not huge evidence that this influences what gets worked on! The majority of the top issues by votes were reported in the 2002-2005 period, with only a handful more recent than that.
Best regards,
Richard. |

I clicked on the "Change columns" link and it appears that there is no "Votes" column available. The choice I get is:
- Assignee Real Name
- Bug ID
- Changed
- Component
- Flags
- Hardware
- Issue Type
- Keywords
- Opened
- Product
- Reporter
- Reporter Real Name
- Summary (first 60 characters)
- URL
- Version
How did you get the "Votes" column displayed? |
