Someone gave me the Manual for StarOffice 6.0 (1 version behind current retail) and I have just started using OO.o 1.1.2 for our office.
I know there are difference in some the licensed spellcheckers, thesaurus and the addition of database in the retail verion, however, are there significant functional differences between StarOffice 6.0 and OO.o 1.1.2 that I could not effectivly use the manual I was given ? |

Hi
OOo1.1.2 is basically StarOffice 7 with 2 upgrade patches. As you have correctly noted there are a number of (proprietory) features that are in SO and not OOo. Conversely, there are some features in OOo1.1.2 that aren't in SO6 simply because it's much newer. pdf export is the first to spring to mind.
Many of the changes that have taken place are enhancements of existing functions (such as Word Compatability) so for basic operation of most features of the core applications the SO6 manual will still be valid.
