Well I am very frustrated but happy at the same time. I was working on a database for attendance tracking and became very mad at not being able to get the input mask items done properly. Well after 2 days of searching I finally found the "more controls" section in Base that everyone in the forum was talking about. It is not in a very obvious place. If you are in the edit mode for creating a form, the more controls button is about half way down the left side of the page. Count 14 icons down, it's right below the ABC text icon.
Once you use it make sure you select your field.
I thought i would share this for the next soul who may go through what I did.

On the toolbar where the listbox is is also a button for more controls.
