|
|
OS: Windows 7 64bit
OO: 3.3, upgraded from 3.2
After upgrade, none of desktop file/folder OO shortcuts work.
The error message is "the requested operation requires elevation."
This user account has admin privileges and is the owner of the file.
A riight click on the shortcut gives me no option to "run as administrator."
In OO 3.2 everything worked.
How do I get my OO shortcuts to work again? (a few shortcuts to files saved in xls or MS word format still work.)
Thanks,
Bob |

Thanks.
I had already tried those. Since I'm already the owner of the program/file, changing owners did nothing.
I then went to the "real" admin." A shortcut made with it worked.
But that didn't help with my shortcuts with the other users. Still got "elevation needed."
It seems to be an OO3.3 + MS shortcut issue?
I guess all I can do is undo the upgrade and return to OO 3.2 if I want my shortcuts to work?
Thoughts?

| If you right click on the shortcut and select Properties can you change the permissions in the security tab to give everyone full control? Or re-do the install using the "real admin" account and install for all users. Other wise I guess 3.2 is you only choice. |

Thank you.
The suggestion didn't work.
So I restored the system to before I installed 3.3.
Now I have another problem:
"Fatal error."
"The application cannot be started.
The user interface language cannot be determined."
Any way to fix this?
If it takes a reinstall, will that wipe my word & spreadsheet folders or is it okay to install over the current version? |

| Use Revo Uninstaller Free to completely remove the old install. Use the most aggressive setting. Then re-install. Your folders should be unaffected. Back them up to be safe. |
