|
|
I'm trying to create a .ps file from a Writer doc (saved as Word doc). I have the drivers installed for a Brother DCP-150 printer. When I opt for 'Print to File' I only get the option of creating a .prn file. I am creating a high-end PDF am using Acrobat Distiller to do so and need a .ps as my starting point in that application.
I'm using Windows 7 on a 64 bit machine.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

OpenOffice Writer has no direct means of generating a PostScript file. However, you can export to a PDF file and convert that to a PS file with an external tool.
There's a site that has a PDF converter tool, but I know nothing about it. Download at:
http://www.anypdftools.com/pdf-converter-win-landing.html?gwd=convert+pdf+doc+online&kid=3992215449&gclid=CL2VlLK2sacCFRG4KgodKR4X_Q
I know GhostScript can do the conversion. You can find lots more information at http://www.ghostscript.com. If you were running on Linux, I could give you the commands to make the conversion (pdf2ps), but I have no experience with it on Windows. _________________ Ed

I guess that the prn file you create will contain the postscript you are looking for. A file extension is just that: a file extension. Rename the file to .ps and see wether you can proceed from there. _________________ --
