(SOLVED)How do I put the formula: =A1 into a text box?

How do I do this:

in calc

Select the textbox.

Right-click on the textbox and select Control

Select tab Data

Bound cell enter: A1

(I am using OOo 3.3)I selected the text box and when I right-clicked I got the menu:

I don't see “control” as a choice on the pull down list

Hi Sean,

This is one way Calc and Excel are different.
You can't do that with the Text Box from the Drawing toolbar, you have to use the one on the Form Controls toolbar.

View|Toolbars|Form Controls...

Then DiGro's suggestion will make sense.

You might also want to change its Read Only property to Yes otherwise changes made in the Text Box are reflected in the Linked cell.

Thank you Ken; I liked the drawing object for its appearance but wanted to use the functionality of the text box (called a label (a form label) in xls spreadsheets.

So I backed away from the calc text box.

SOLVED isn't what resulted but I did learn and I will leave the post up for a week and then delete it.

REDIRECTED is more what happened.
