Impress Styles

Guys,

I'm new to this forum and to open office so please forgive my lack of knowledge.

With Impress I'm able to open PowerPoint files of all types pps,ppt,ppsx and pptx however I have a problem with the style or fomat of impress.

I want to remove all of the tool bars which I can do by selecting to close each one and I'm removing the task pane and slide pane from view.

The problem I have is that when I close Impress and open again they are all back again, is there any I can remove them for good?

I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise with Open office 3.2.1.
