OpenOffice fails to start after complete installation

Hallo, OpenOffice Friends,

I have installed OO1.1.2 several times on my Win98SE-System. Installation run fine, but the program doesn't show on the screen after start, although the program manager (Ctr+Alt+Del) does show soffice as active program. In addition, Win98 won't shut down normally unless soffice is deleted in the program manager and sometimes the system becomes extremly slow when working with other programs until soffice is erased via the progam manager.
Suspecting a mistake in my java, which was installed from opera 7.23, I also repeatet this installation procedure. A new repair of OO after that endet with an error-message "unzulässiger Vorgang" (action not permitted). After restart however no effect: OO won't show up on the screen.

It would be just fantastic if an OO-expert could help me to solve this problem.
Also thanks to all who spend their time thinking about that case.

is it possible that you ran a /net option install ??

In that case you have to install Ooo 1.1.x for each saparate user as well.

Since I am the only user on my PC, I installed OO without any option.
However, I will check for possible options.
