LibreOffice 3.4 Writer Document Crashes - OO 3.3 OK

I have a long (140+ pages) document that recently started crashing every time I try to open with LO 3.4.

It successfully recovers and then immediately crashes LO 3.4.

I have no problem with this document on OO 3.3.

The document is mainly text although some simple alphanumeric tables are included. No graphics.

This problem occurred in the same way on two different Windows 7 machines (32 bit and 64 bit).

Suggestions?

How are you saving it? In .doc or .docx format or as .odt?

Everything is .odt: the original and the saved files.

Some hints:
* Reset your user profile. Click here for help how to do that.
* Do you have IE 9? If so, uninstall it - version 8 will be installed instead. IE 9 on Windows 7 is known to crash OOo.
