Hi,
When saving a spread sheet where the column names contain the Swedish special characters å.ä and ö as a dBASE file, these column names appear with strange characters when opening the file in dBASE IV (char. set western 850).
I'm running OO with the Swedish language pack in a (Swedish) Windows 7 Pro environment.
I'd rather not change the column names since they are used by dBASE in a chain of processing.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi,
Try to save as with the Edit filter setting checked.
In the dBAse export menu select Western Europe (Windows-1252/WinLatin 1)

Thanks for the tip, Martin! Unfortunately I'm afraid I can't use it since it is the old dBASE IV DOS-version I'm running. It is actually running in Windows7 but the character problem seem impossible to solve. Alternatives then seem to be either to install XP-mode in Win7 or simply use XP all over again.
However I will leave this thread open a little longer, just in case someone pops up with something...
