I am trying to make a slideshow in impress that includes a video clip. I have the clip in .mov format, though I have tried .avi as well with the same result.
I found that I can add it in when I am working on the presentation (using Insert ... Movie and Sound) and in edit mode I can watch the video clip, even though in the slide view it shows the grey speaker icon. However when I run the presentation, I see a large white box on the screen that sits where the video should be.
I set up an animation effect to start the video by clicking on it (since it didn't do anything automatically) but all that happens when I click is I get a lot of drive access that eventually leads to nothing.
The video clip in question is 9mb as .mov, 1.7mb as .avi. My system is running Kubuntu 10.10, OpenOffice 3.2.1. I have 4 gbs of ram and an Intel i5 CPU.
thank you |

| As an update, I just tried converting the same video clip to .mpg, and had the same result when I place it in my presentation. |
