I want to draw following shape

in Libre Office 3.I use Ubuntu 11.10 How can I do it in Libreoffice Writer?
Or is there any better approach?

It's not an inbuilt shape but you will get a long way with the Rectangle and Line tools. It may be better to use Draw. I expected that you'd want a wheel chart, which is a bit harder to do.

I opened Open Office Draw but where are those rectangles which you are referring to I am unable to locate them.

Look at the toolbar at the bottom of the Draw window. There's a picture of a smiley and directly to the left of it is a box, a collection of standard shapes like rectangles. You will also need two straight lines. Hover your mouse over the rest of that toolbar to find all available goodies.

Thanks sorry for the stupid question but is it possible to copy this diagram from open office draw to open office writer or presentation slides?

Of course; you can also draw it directly in Writer with the same toolbar, but Draw has better tools for editing shapes.
