Search forum by topic title

Hi,

The advanced search offers two options:

-> Search topic title and message text
-> Search message text only

Any chance for adding Search topic title only?

Not while the forum software isn't updated. It's implemented in the latest phpbb software.

I take it as "we are too busy" which I can understand but just to finish off nicely I'd like to add the rationale behind my question. I believed that adding this option would improve the quality of search results which in turn would:

a) decrease the number of duplicate questions
b) decrease the load on the server by reducing the number of queries

This is why I thought it was worthwhile to look into this by someone.

Unfortunately, the person who actually started this forum (and, to be fair, the same person who continues to pay for the site hosting and the domain name out of his own pocket and without putting ads on this forum), has been largely absent from this forum for several years. If you will notice at the bottom of the page, the software hasn't been updated since 2005 (the fact that this forum is still operational is a testament to the power of phpBB). That apparently apathy on the part of the owner was the main reason why the other user forum at http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/ was started.

A few people on this forum have been elevated to "administrator" level, but they don't have access to upgrade the software.
