Greetings,
I am looking for an answer to the question, How can you run a Base form as a standalone application (if possible)? Is this covered in any of the documentation somewhere? The reason I ask is that right now, I'm adjusting/designing forms for different databases I have, but at some point, I would imagine that I would like to "deploy" it to a few users but so they could use it without having to open up the database and possibly see the tables, forms, queries, etc. Right now, I can edit/design the form, and then get out of design mode and actually verify and manipulate the underlying data in a particular table, but I would not want the end user to do that manually. I'd want the form to handle all of that.
Thanks,
Mike |

All user need to have access to OpenOffice in order to run/access your form which implicit means they can edit the form.

A standalone form has the same options as a Writer document. The read-only feature is available while saving the form.
1. Check "Save with password" but don't set a password
2. Click "More options" and check "Open file read-only"
3. Then "Enter password to allow editing"
