|
|
Although a few requests have been made to openoffice.org to add a function like MS's Office's "Format Painter," I have forgotten how to add my vote to the request.
Stylist is fine for setting up most formatting, but a feature like Format Painter is quick and easy to use in one document for repeated formatting changes that are one-time things and do not need to be saved.
OpenOffice gets better and better; in general, it is now superior to MS, but here and there it needs a bit more fine tuning.
Would it be better for me to write this to the users email listing?
All the best. |

To vote for an enhancement request, login at openoffice.org, find the issue, and vote for it. However, in this case, you don't need to, as the format painter feature is scheduled for the 2.0 release, apparently. _________________ Noho ora mai, ka kite ano.

Thank you, thank you.
I believe openoffice 2.0 will be out sometime in the first half of 2005.
I am looking forward to it.
All the best.

In the meantime perhaps you may use PincOOo.
The macro may be downloaded from
http://www.ooomacros.org/End user option
This macro does exactly what I needed for format painter |

Thanks so much. I've downloaded the file and extracted it to openoffice.org 1.2, Program, Ad-in. I have no experience with using macros; so, now I have to learn how to use it. I will try the Help to learn about macros, in general.
If there is no way to get a button to activate this macro, I cannot see how it will be useful. Anyway, I hope it will suit until oo 2.0.
All the best,

Ignore may previous reply. I did not know that what I had downloaded was an "installer." Anyway, I followed the instructions and installed the macro. I see that I have two new buttons: Copy Style and Paste Style.
It is not quite the same as Format Painter, but close enough to be helpful until the next leap forward of OpenOffice.
All the best,
