Hi, I am, and have been using Albertus MT... it appears in the "Font in use" on the toolbar, but not in the fonts list.... nor, even in the fonts list for my computer! .It has to exist somewhere. Main trouble is, I want THAT one as default for text body. Any help would be appreciated. _________________ You cannot have a future if you cannot imagine one.

How can you have been using it if it's not on your computer? Did you use it on another one or did you accidentally delete the font? Google has plenty of links for Albertus MT, but I don't have it, so it's not a very common font. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

What do you mean you DO have it - you have it or you don't. If you don't have it, OOo will select a font to replace it, based on the metrics of the font. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

ok.. and this is why it's a mystery...this is what I am up against.
That font does not appear in Windows->fonts.. does not appear in a font navigator I have... does not show up if I do a system-wide search.. does not appear in the drop-down list in Open Office writer,,, YET, somehow, I have written two books using it... almost 300k words. My puzzlement stems from the same source as you... if it doesn't appear in any of those places, why does the name appear, since, technically, it does not exist? _________________ You cannot have a future if you cannot imagine one. |

Hi,
| Quote: | | ... it appears in the "Font in use" on the toolbar, but not in the fonts list | It appears on the toolbar because the document was created on a system which had the Albertus MT font, it doesn't appear in your font list because you don't have that font installed.
OpenOffice preserves the font name so you can make changes and send it back to the originator of the document and he will see the correct font.

AHH, that would explain it.. thanks.. then, likely, it's Times New Roman, in reality. _________________ You cannot have a future if you cannot imagine one. |
