I spent 6 hours researching and compiling an essay. While working on it, OpenOffice crashed. I was able to save the file, but now I cannot open it. what do i do? OpenOffice will not even open. When I click on it, the little loading icon shows up then it disappears, but nothing has happened. Any suggestions? I cannot reinstall it, as I purchased this computer from a store where it was refurbished.

Welcome to the forum.

First, start from a command line: soffice

Any error messages?

Which OOo version?
Which operating system?

Second: Reset your user profile.
