i have recently tried open office on a friends pc and i was impressed so decide to install on my own pc. The installation went fine but as soon as i try to open any of the applications i get the same result, a large rectangle window with the heading Soffice.bin Bad image and below it says
C:\windows\system32\sal3.dll is not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.
I have tried reinstalling the program
i have checked to see that the file is on the system it is
i have tried some of the suggestions from the internet such as
adding c:\programfiles(x86)\openoffice.org3\URE\bin
to the path system environment variable makes no difference
I am running windows 7
i have ran out of ideas and things to try can anyone help
And many thanks to all in advance

bri50 welcome

AFAIK the sal3.dll is installed 'into' the following path only 'openoffice.org3\URE\bin' so upon start up should find it automatically.
Please ensure it is only in this path........
Hope this helps _________________ Greengiant 224
