Open Office will not open, can not download new one?

I don't know what is happening. I can not open 3.2 at all. No matter how I try. I even tried to go into my documents folder and open it that way and it just 'hangs'. I tried to download the 3.3 version and It gets to a certain point and just disappears? Everything goes away and nothing happens.

Any idea or fixes here. My kids depend of Open Office for school work.

Reset your user profile. Click here for help how to do that.
If that doesn't work, press Shift+Ctrl+Esc (Windows) to open the task manager and make sure that no soffice processes are running. Re-install if necessary.

Wow!! I am sorry but a lot of that is way over my head. I am not sure exactly what I am supposed to do??

I did try and do a repair to 3.2. That did not work. I tried to uninstall it and it wont. I tried to download 3.3 and it looks like it downloads and just stops. I get a couple different types of error messages each time. I have tried 4 different times to download.

Anyone have any ideas? In plain simple English please! lol Very Happy

Re-installing won't fix a damaged user profile. Read the tutorial and sort it out, it's not that hard. If you do have problems with it, please quote the part you don't understand, then I only have to clear that up.
