Program not responding

I like using Open Office, but sometimes when I open it up, it "slows down" my computer. There are many times, the upper tab that the program is listed on is followed by the message (Not responding). This will last for several minutes at times, and makes 20 minute projects take twice as long. Usually the (Not responding) message will pop up several times throughout my session, which causes the program to stop working altogether for an unpredictable amount of time. Frustrating to say the least. I am running Windows Vista and am using the OpenOffice.org 3.3 version. Any suggestions?

You can look in Tools - Options - OOo - Memory and then adjust some of the settings there to make OOo less memory intensive. You can also reset your user profile. Click here for help how to do that.
