Border of each cell is a very thin red line

Hi there

what did I do wrong?
In one sheet I entered numerous data and I was able to add and calculate percentages. Each used cell has a border colored RED and I do not find the way to go back to the usual appearance of cells.. What can I do? Mab

Can't reproduce that - you are talking about Calc, right? If so, this is in the wrong forum. I'll move it after you posted again. Please give more information - you can also sign up at the new forum and ask your question there and attach a sample file.

Wish I new how to attach a sample file.

( I wanted to prepare a column chart to study the behavior of hemoglobin and platelets in a patient. I succeeded:: beautiful charts. But I am too old to study OpenOffice. In my local library I found only 1 book "OpenOffice.org" by Greg Perry, 2004. It will be a challenge but I will start to study it.....)

Red borders around used cells sounds like Record Changes has been accidentally turned on.
Go Edit|Changes|Record then click the Yes button on the dialogue with the question...
Exit change recording mode?

Another problem that I cannot solve (yet) from studying the Perry book.

OK. On calculating the percentage of gain from bonds I get unmanageable #.

i.e.: 1.9011572220

So, 1.90 is plenty sufficient to confirm that we are crossing a time of miserable economies. but the remaining numbers are useless. How can i get read of the them in the percentage cells?

The column (cell) is not wide enough, simply make it wider.

I will try your method.
In the meantime I went cell by cell and adjusedt into the preferred appearance
(format cells/numbers/1234.12/3 decimals)
(the difficulty I encounter: the Perry book is 2004, mostly outdated; the online manual is tooooo complex for a beginner. I'll persist, within limits and with help from kind people.Thank you again)

I reply to your question by mail about the dates underneath tabular data I suggest that you select the dates, right click and then select Format cells - Alignment and type 90 in the Orientation box to rotate the text by 90 degrees.
