I have a simple database (in MS Worls 9) and want to convert it to Base. I have produced a csv file from the Works database, and captured it in Calc without any problem. When I attempt to copy this into the table I have produced for the file in Base it attempts to put the whole database into the first field of the first record, which, of course, doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

You need to match the number of fields (and their type) that you have in Calc, to a new table structure in BASE. Good luck! It's agony importing into BASE. Crying or Very sad

You can do File > New > Database, put the bullet in Connect to Existing Database. Under that select Spreadsheet, click Next and browse to your spreadsheet.

Bullshit. This is as easy as can be.
You have those data in Calc with dates as dates and numbers as numbers and text fields as text.
Then you have prepared your database table which is the best you can do before the import.
All you have to do now is:
Select the cell range and drag it over into the database window and drop it onto the table icon.
