Don't saves in xml format

couple days before it worked.. and today all the time i get error:
"Error saving the document Statitstika:
Write error.
The file could not be written"

I have the same problem when I try and save a very simple file in .xml format from Writer. I am able to save the file in .doc format but not .xml format. I am running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I installed OpenOffice.org 3.4.0 today. I did not have any prior versions installed. From searching the problem on the web, I suspect this is a problem with my Java version or path to it. I uninstalled Java 6.29 64 bit and installed 7 Update 5 32 bit on my machine. This did not help. I tried uninstalling and installing 3.4.0 again and it still did not work. Tools/Options/OpenOffice.org/Java shows Version 1.7.0_05. It appears to me I have Java configured correctly, but I don't know for sure.

I don't see a problem with permissions and I have plenty of disk space available. I am saving it on my Desktop so I should be able to write the file there.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try?
