| Hi. I'm formatting a document to ebook specifications. I need to remove all the paragraph indents. Is there a way to do this besides manually? I would really appreciate a short-cut to this since the book is 200 pages and full of dialog. |

This depends on how the document is formatted. If it is formatted using a Style then you should be able to just change the Style indent.
Alternatively, if it is hard coded then you might want to do a find and replace with Options > Regular Expressions turned on. Search for "\t" and replace it with nothing. _________________ jrkrideau

Thank you. The \t didn't work but the style did.
Very much appreciated and saved me hours of work. |

Excellent. Clearly the creator of the document understood decent formatting. It's so nice when you don't have to correct a lot of bad formatting. _________________ jrkrideau

| "If it is formatted using a Style then you should be able to just change the Style indent." What change exactly needs to be made in the Style in order to remove all the indents from an existing document? |

| Thanks for the response. I expressed myself poorly. What I want to do is to remove all the paragraph divisions in the document, so that it becomes a single paragraph. I know how to do this in Word, but have not figured out how to do it in OpenOffice. |

You can do that only if the total number of characters in your file is smaller than 64 K, because a paragraph can't be longer than that in Writer.
Get the AltSearch extension, that offers the functionality to remove paragraph breaks. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
