|
|
I recently used OpenOffice Impress to create a few YouTube videos, and YouTube is now asking me for documentation showing that I have sufficient copyright privileges to use the software. Does anyone happen to know how I can obtain this or who I should contact in regards to this?
Thanks a lot,
James |

OOo is free to use, you have the copyright and are the intellectual owner of anything you make with it (in the Netherlands you are that automatically, in the USA, I understand, you have to register your work for it to be copyright protected) - as long as the materials you use are your own work. If you use graphics, sound files, text or whatever copyrighted by somebody else, you will need their permission to use them. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

| Thank you. Does anyone happen to know how I go about registering my work? (Do I need to register each work, or do I just need to register the software?) |

You seem to be getting the wrong picture. You are under no obligation to the developers of OOo, whether you write a best-seller with Writer or make pots of money running a successful business, doing all the financial stuff with Calc. See http://www.copyright.gov/ for an explanation of how the copyright law works in the USA. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
