Why in thunder cannot I save/load files from folders on the desktop with OpenOffice Writer? I dropped CHROME when they started this. The inconvenience it causes me, if not repairable, will cause me to leave open office.

What version of OOo and what OS? I can save to the desktop with LO 3.5 and WIN 7.
