|
|
Hi all, pretty new to using OOo and can't work this one out.
Formatting of bullet points changes when I close and reopen a document. When I save it, I have a nice circular bullet but when I reopen it, I get a square shape with something inside it.
I'm currently using v3.3.0 but I'm working with file extensions .doc, .docx or .odt.
How do I stop the bullet points from changing?
Does the file format have something to do with it? Meaning, should I convert all my documents to .odt?
Any help would be much appreciated!

When working with OOo, you shouldn't convert to odt, you should always save in that format - and when you work with MS Word, you should save in its native format. Only convert to another format when you have to send your work to somebody else who wants that other format.
Just remember that when you open a file with a word processor, it will convert that file to its native format, and you edit the file in that native format, and when you save in another format, the file will be converted to that other format. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista

Thanks for that floris_v. I understand what you're saying about the file formats.
I've tried everything but my bullet point formatting keeps changing. Do you have any idea why this is happening, or how to stop it? |

That behaviour only occurs, as far as I know, when you swap between Word and odt formats. One way yo get rid of such conversion troubles is to save the file in odt format, open it again, copy all text to the clipboard, open a new, blank document, paste the text and save that. _________________ LibreOffice 3.6.3; OOo 3.4.1 on Windows Vista
