I am having a problem with text wrapping in Calc. The text appears hidden in many cells with a arrow on the right side of the cell.
I have formatted cells by selecting a column, right clicking, choosing format cells and checking wrap text automatically and clicking okay.
That process works fine. The text will wrap properly. There will be no arrows on the right side of the cells.
The problem when the document is re-opened (yes, I'm sure I am saving it), I have lost the formatting and have the arrows on the right side of the cells again.
Is there any way to set Calc up so that it remembers to wrap text each time that I open the document so that I don't have to reformat each time?
I'm using Open Office v.2.1 on Windows XP.
Thanks |

Perhaps check what sort of file you are saving as, e.g. a type that does not support wrapping?
Otherwise has the cell got some sort of Calc Style that is overriding what you set?
Wrapping is still there when I save, close and re-open an ods or an xls file in Calc 2.0.2 in Win XP Home.
I'm not helping much, am I? |

save it as ods file or xlsx file instead of xls file
but even wrapping in xls file should be solved by now (year 2012), but is not. |

This is happening in some Calc files after upgrading to OO 3.4.
The files are created under earlier OO versions, and no problem ever, until when opening in OO 3.4, the described happened, ie.
(i) Text not properly wrapped with a red arrow shown in the cell.
(ii) Problem cleared by manually adjusting the cells.
(iii) Manual adjustment found lost when the file is opened again.
Note
This only happens to some but not all files. Cannot relate what differeces among the files so far.
