How do I create an image in Writer to open a site using a browser?

I can create a hyperlink by selecting text but can not find any help on how to do the same thing using an image placed into a Writer document.

Please help.

Shocked

Insert the image, right click on it, select Picture, select the Hyperlink tab. The rest is obvious.

If your problem has been solved, please edit the first post in this thread and add [Solved] to the title bar.

The picture IS actually behaving like a button.

Try the document in non-edit mode...

Sorry, couldn't help to notice that the hyperlink for some reason disappears and needs to be set again once the document is opened.

I tried to "Anchor" the picture but after saving and opening the same document, the set default anchor seems to overwrite or the selected anchor setting before the save does not seem to work the way I would like it to.

Is there a way to set the hyperlink from not disappearing after editing the document?
I guess having the image anchored as well would be nice...Is there a way to do this as well?

How do I view the document in non-editing mode?

Save in an OpenOffice.org format.

Hit the Edit icon (near SAVE/SAVE AS) to view in non-edit mode.

thank you

Saving it in a .odt format seems to have resolved this problem however I still do not understand how to enter the non edit mode and what I could use it for.

Actually the Edit button only unlocks a read-only document, it's disabled for editable documents.
You can use Ctrl+mouse click to activate the hyperlink.

Not within my version (still using 3.2.1).

A editable document becomes read-only and vice versa.

It's disabled in OOo 3.3, AOO 3.4 and LibreOffice 3.5.1.2. Apparently a new thing?

PostPosted: Mon Aug 06, 2012 11:52 am    Post subject: hyperlinks being removed every time I close *.doc file Reply with quote

Has the described problem been succesfully resolved by anyone? I am having hard time trying to permanently link hyperlinks to images in a *.doc file but every time I do attach these links, they're gone after the document is closed and reopened.
The way to save the document as an *.odt file is not acceptable for me. It MUST be saved as a *.doc file.
Any suggestion please?

You expect too much of conversion filters. If you want that much high fidelity, get a copy of MS Word.

Ehh, thanks for disillusioning me...Crying or Very sad
I did hope for a better solution to exist and now it seems I must reconsider violating my own rule of not purchasing any Micr...ft products since I had switched to Mac. Evil or Very Mad
Thanks anyhow.
