wei use firefox, thunderbird, mozilla and ie6 for oracle, the calendar is integrated too, but i use the mrbs to have it in the network, that evereybody kann see my public relations.
i note only that firefox 1.0 is starting slowlier on my officepc than the ie6 who is integrated in xp. for the comfor it is better firefox.
from the mozillaproject the OOo-Projekt can learn, because mantaining the mozilla project it is to big and so firefox and thunderbid and the candar ar coming out, because they are better to mantain all the code. so i hope it will be for the OOo-Project to, that there will be the standalone for writer, calc, drow and impress.
mybe the compatibility to ms-office will be going developed better.
an other suggestion can be to work only with symbols instead of text in the menu ex. instead of format page -> formatsymbol in the menu and the formatpage-symbol. i know it will in the first time harderd to learn OOo, in the second time logic and during the work easy
thank for your attention

Hi All
I am using the full mozilla suite. I was wondering, I don't see why people have a problem with the full suite. Could anyone enlighten me?
Thanks,
Peter |

I used to use it and liked it before. But Firefox was, at the time I switched (back in the Phoenix days), so much smaller and snappier. It just seemed to be what I was looking for...browser only. I know nothing about Mozilla now. But am in love with what Phoenix/Firefox has become.
I now use Thunderbird mail too. That is two of the aspects of Mozilla. But there is so much more in Mozilla that I just didn't like. And, at the time it seemed kludgy compared to Phoenix/Firefox.

sometimes internet-sites are maked to view it only with ie6, you will find a lot of sites in the internet, but installing the plug that the moz or ff will be make the handshake as ie6 you will go around this problem, sometimes moz or ff will crash.
if you use moz as mail-client you will notice that il will go very slow with groqing up your e-mail, especialiy over 500 mb and on win9x machines you will have somethimes trouble.
the biggest problem in moz or ff is the integration in the system on win-machines, specialy if you use a proxyserver, so you must configure the host-file.
it is good that more and more people use non comercial products, becouse everybody if he need help will pay for the helping or if he have a lot of time to learn it and helping to stop crashing the programm

Mhh did I say I had problems with the full Mozilla suite?
Actually I used the full Mozilla before, but I think the Firefox interface is nicer and secondly Firefox itself as an application is slimer/thinner than Mozilla, in which I didn't use all the features provided. In Firefox it's just wonderful, I have everything I need to have.

I think Firefox and Thunderbird are much better than the full mozilla sweet, I love them and have been using them both for about 4-5 months.

Same to me! I like to use as mutch Open Source progs as are available only because I know that they are getting better every day. It is of this reason I try to help as mutch people to solve there problems and to convince them that there are better options than M$.

I use Firefox on Windows and Ubuntu Linux live CD...
I use Firebird on my Morphix live CD...
After seeing how bad IE was in comparison I'd never go back. Even if they paid me...
Tell all your friends about Firefox so we can reach that 10% mark by the end of next year... |

I've just started using firefox/thunderbird.
It's great because I'm running Win XP and Linux on my box. By putting the ff/tb profiles on a remote smb share that can be accessed from both windows and linux my mail and browsing system has become totally independent of what OS I happen to be running.
Together with the ability to edit documents with OOo 1.1.3 on both OSes, this makes for an excellent system. I no longer have to boot into another OS just to see that one mail or document

| Quote: | As with fishing, phishing relies on fooling the "phish" long enough to reel it in, and the lures are getting more realistic. Some phishing attacks rely on cross-site scripting. I thought of my friend's tackle box when I read an article on a new cross site scripting vulnerability in Internet Explorer (post-SP2).
Attackers can use the new vulnerability to create a phishing attack that displays a spoofed site while showing the address of the legitimate site in the address bar, or the lock icon indicating a "secure" site. The net effect is the creation of a very realistic copy of a trusted Web site. Currently there is no patch; however, Microsoft has said they are investigating and will issue a patch out of cycle if it is warranted.
Since the attack is specific to IE, you might wonder if this is a great example of why you should switch to Firefox.

Thank you Watch Guard! For keeping me up to date on securoty issues and thank you Mozilla for providing a good ie alternative! |

Smiley Xtra, CuneAform, also a rather better RSS Reader than the integrated one, Launchy (As Downloadwith is not recognised by the release version of Firefox 1.0 as working with it), Dictionary Search, RSS Editor and Mozilla Archive Format. I don't use any extensions with Thunderbird - there is apparently to be another Calendar extension in addition to the existing one that will supposedly be more tightly integrated with Thunderbird in order to add most of the same functionality as Outlook although I see no more reason why Email and Calendar facilities should be integrated in one application than that Email and Spreadsheet facilities, or Email and Wordprocessing should be integrated into a single application - Outlook is a monster, Schedule+ was actually a rather sounder application in concept and perhaps if they had kept the email application seperate it would have made more sense and Sunbird for example is being designed with the facility to send files created in it by email - the new application Lightning will just divert development time from Sunbird and the existing Calendar extension. |
