Hello all. Sorry if this is a RTFM question [i have to no avail ] i'm new to OOCalc, using version 1.1.0 After selecting the desired range of cells using the SUM function, the autoformat function on my main toolbar is disabled. i've right clicked on the toolbar to customize it, and checked the box next to the autoformat icon. when i click add, apply and/or OK, i get "this feature already exists", but when i return to the spreadsheet autoformat is still greyed out. i've selected format and the autoformat button is greyed out. Visible buttons on main toolbar has a checkmark next to autoformat, but when i try to access the function, it's still greyed out. Please, what am i doing wrong? any/all help much appreciated. Thanks _________________ "Choose well, for your choice is brief, yet endless"~Goethe |

Hello,
First of all I like to thank you for the "AUTOFORMAT" option. I never notice its existence and never tried to use it until your post.
BUT Unfortunately, after trying it for a minute or so, I tried replicating your problem.
1) Got to Tools=>Configure
2) Customize my custom toolbar
3) Add AutoFormat Option
And after I did this, the autoformat function icon turns dark, and it is grayed out as you said. Now I can't get it back to work again
At least now your not alone with this problem. I'll check if this is posted in Bugs&Issues after I submit this post. _________________ # : - ) |

Hi r_vinoya, everyone. As Homer Simpson would say D'oh! i figured out what i was doing wrong. i didn't know that when selecting the cells for autoformat that the cells must not contain any data. As i'd mentioned i'm a calc newbie so i hope you'll all forgive such a silly mistake [i thought you could enter the data and then select the autoformat to change the sheet's appearance ] Live & learn Thanks again everyone for your time. Hope my screw-up will save others the same fate _________________ "Choose well, for your choice is brief, yet endless"~Goethe |

Yeah!
I also noticed that AUTOFORMAT works (At least in my case) ONLY when selecting range for AT LEAST 3 columns AND 3 Rows:
Ex.
When selecting 2x3, or 1x3 or 2x5 cells, AUTOFORMAT won't work
But when selecting 3x3 or 4x5 or 10x3, AUTOFORMAT can work, Irregradless if It contains data or not. _________________ # : - ) |
