Layers & PDF

If I oversaw such a feature, please tell me.

I would really like to have the possibility to add layers to a document (Writer, Impress, etc)
In one layer, I would like to keep the original document.
In the next layer, I would like to have the possibility to add text notes.
In a next layer, I would like to add (e.g.) drawings.

If I could switch on/off, print, search each layer separately, that would be the ultimate application.

And finally, if Writer could read PDF in layer 1 (even as a figure only), I could attach memos to it, etc., save it with the memos.

Another step into a paperless direction.

You can do layers in draw and impress already and you can decide whether a layer is printable.

As for loading a PDF you can't but you can of course create a bitmap of one from a screen capture or other tools depending on the OS you are using.
