Dialogue Popup Problem

Hi.
I've a little question!
I've made a dialogue, fulls of buttons, that sends some text files in an open document.
(I hope to have explained well!!)
How can I "tell" to the dialogue that I want to work with the text under it, without closing it??
I've read all SDK pages, but I haven't find anythings about it.
