Hello,
While I am still a happy user of OOo 1.1.4 I wanted to test the beta versions of the promising OOo 2. Some time ago I had installed version 1.9.79. I experienced a recurrent problem with unexpected failures and unusable 'Recovery window' and 'Report window' (what inhibited my attempts to help the developpers) appearing a every opening of the program. So I installed version 1.9.84. Again I was able to use it for some works but similar failures occured. I read about version 1.9.95 beeing improved and to day in this site I read about version 1.9.97.
I downloaded the installation file and started the installation.
During the installation an early window "told me" it was installing version 1.9.75...
Doesn't the official OOo site propose the latest beta version ?
or are there different repositories for the successive versions ?

The version on the OOo site is a beta version "OOo2.0beta" its version number is 1.9.79
The subsequent versions are developer versions and so only available on the mirrors for those who know how to find them 
The latest is 1.9.95 - the version number you saw during installation may have been left there "by accident"
