|
|
Hello,
Iīve got a problem with OpenOffice.org 1.1.2. My colleagues make their reports and everything with MS Word, but I have got Fedora Core 3 (linux), and OpenOffice doesnīt display the word documents of my friends well. When I open their word-documents I have got a lot of space between each line. If their document contains just 1 page, my openoffice needs 2 pages to display all the sentences... Maybe my openoffice hasnīt got the right fonts... The font looks allright though...
Is their a solution to my problem? |

That could be ffrom a couple of things.
a) ">Format >Styles >Style Catalog >Page Styles >Page >Layout Settings" Checkbox Register-true being checked is the first one.
b) Different margin settings is the second possibility. [MSOffice, and OOo define, and treat margins differently.
c) OOO may be adding a space above, or below the line. Check paragraph styles.
d) Fonts might be an issue as well. If so, install them in OOo.

Try one of those possibilites. If it doesn't work, I'll think of something else to try.

Check font replacement table.
I used font replacement for Times New Roman to Nimbus Roman No9 L.
Nimbus fonts look much better in Linux (if antialiased) then Times New Roman but they are taller even i the same sizes (12pt Nimbus is taller then 12pt Roman) Looks like they has more beween-lines space!?
If I apply the table, documents under linux had more page then under Windows. |
