File New - No Sub-Menus - 1.1 RC2 - Windows 98 SE -

Installed 1.1 RC2 over 1.0.3 and went to File - New and no sub-menu options appeared. To fix went to installation directory and ran setup to repair installation and now can get File->New sub-menus.

Yip - I had the same problem, only my install was over 1.0.2. Must say I like the new version, the toolbars look nice and the pdf export works a treat - much better then using ghostscript like I used to.

You shouldn't install a new version over an old one. You should install new versions in separate directories. It is only since version 1.1 RC 2 that we are beginning to see upgrade capability in the OOo install program.

With respect to PDF creation using Ghostscript, if you want quality PDF's, then you should use the Adobe Distiller driver from the Adobe website to create your postscript (free download of the PPD printer driver file). This gives me PDF's of the same quality I got with Adobe distiller. When you are working with EPS graphics, you're only option is to use postscript based printing. The OOo File Save As PDF doesn't do that. Adobe in their Acrobat program removed their PDF writer in favour of a Distiller based printer. Now, OOo is introducing such a thing.
