This is not an issue that I am facing at the moment, but one that I will have to face if I want to convert my workplace to OOo. Is there a way to link to a group of templates kept on a common network server without changing the individual templates?
I have figured out a way of setting up a Network Folder in the Microsoft Office setup so users can click on that as a type of template and they can find all of the company templates. Then if a template changes, all we have to do is change the template in that one folder on the server, and everyone sees the changes, rather than have the users change their templates or, worse, have me go around and change their templates.
These aren't day-to-day working templates, but things like time sheets, expense reports, vacation requests, and the like. I don't want to make that the default template folder, but I do want it to be an option. Unfortuantely, I haven't figured out how to do that in OOo yet without making it the default folder. Anyone have any ideas?
