can't get start OOo 2.0 beta

I am using Openoffice 1.1.2 runing on Fedora Core 3. Now, I want to change to OpenOffice 2.0 beta. I have downloaded and installed OOo.org 2.0 by. But after that I can't see any icon of the OOo.org version 2.0. anyone helps me, plz. I am a new bie.

As you have no icons for it, I'm geussing you did not install the dektop integration RPM that is supplied for use with Fedora.

To check that OOo installed, look in /opt and there should be a directory for openoffice.org1.9.x. If not,it's not installed.

The simplest way to get icons to launch it would be to go back to the extracted set of RPM's and cd into the desktop-integration directory. In there you should find an RPM with Fedora in it's name. Installing that RPM (you should be able to do this from within X) will give you OOo icons in your menu.

To get OOo icons on your desktop, just create icons which link to /opt/openoffice.org1.9.x/swriter, scalc, simpress etc.
