How about encouraging people to helpful replies only.
When I'm searching on how to shut off auto-complete and auto numbering systems, I find "Use the search function", "Yeah I had the same problem".
This only extend my search time, which I used in the first place. |

The answer to your query:
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=353
One reason why people are encouraged to use the freely available search function (rather than asking others to do it for them:
| Quote: | | “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime”—Author unknown |
Or in this instance... Give a person an answer and you have answered their question. Teach a person to search for an answer and you help them to find all the answers they'll ever need.

| But the pond is becoming so polluted with trash that it reduces the possibility of finding the fish. |

The problem with the "trash" is that you are getting results that do not have anything to do with your particular issue. The trick is to reduce the trash so the treasure is easier to find. If the forum suppported searching for phrases this would be easier - but it is certainly not impossible.
Have a look at my post http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=80969#80969 for one way to do this, and RGB's response http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?p=81005#81005 for a simpler method.
The moral of the story is: if you don't have a treasure map, use a metal detector
Hope this helps your future searches. _________________ Dale
