Hi

Ok, I tried to find out some things why the pdfs whicht OOo creates are that bad.
The problem is that there is no acceptable solution for myself.

Did someone know how to configure OOo that the pictures which are included in the PDFs dont show that jpg artefacts?
Or is it possible by changing a config file to set the compression to another value?

I dont want to install a second tool under windows
I dont want to reduse the color depth to 256 that gif like compression will be used.

I want to have a solution which makes it possible for me, to export my presentations and textfiles with a lot of graphics without loosing information by compressing.

If its not possible in the 112 OOo Version, then it should be possible in the next release.
I think a lot of people want such a possibilty.

pS:
sorry for my bad english
greetingz from austria

The only way that I know is that you can choose three quality levels for a pdf-export. I tried it with jpg and gif pictures. The were appreciable differences within the quality but I couldn't observe any artefacts with highest level. Use insted of the PDF-Export button the menu. In file->export as pdf->export... you can choose the desired quality. I read that you don't want to install any further software. But you should have a look at ExtendedPDF (it's a macro for OpenOffice.org). It has several advantages, for example you can choose the quality of a pdf dokument (dependent on the "printer") and you can include links(for example to jump to a picture from your table of content or to an URL), bookmarks and many more. It is outstanding to produce a professional pdf document. But you need gs(ghostscript) to use ExtendedPDF with OOo. Unfortunately I don't know a way to create a pdf document without the lost of information in OOo. I hope this is a help for you. joerg04.
