I have just installed OpenOffice and need help getting started with it (particularly Writer).
The default 'template' opens to a blank document that anything but standard letter size (8 1/2 x 11) deminsions. How do I make the new document default a standard letter size everytime I open a new document to begin work?
The default ruler and other features are in centimeters. I see how to change this to inches for each new document but how do I make inches the default permanently?
I installed OpenOffice from a CD I bought called 'Home Office made easy!'. The company is Encore (at www.encoreusa.com). Is anyone familiar with this company? Seems I bought something that is free from the Internet.

Note from Shad -
I have found the way to change the default from centimeters to inches. It was under Tools - Options - Text Documents - View.
Still need help to get a new document to open in letter size as the default.

I'd say so, and at about $40 US?

Choose the "General" tab, to change cm/inch settings.
