Record changes to chart in macro?

Hello everyone,

I've already searched the forum and google. However, I didn't manage to come up with an answer.
I've got the following problem:

I am trying to record a macro that inserts/removes the legend in a chart that I have. So I start the macro-recorder, add the legend, save the macro. However, the recorder doesn't seem to record the changes I've made to the graph (it doesn't record changes in chart styles, colors etc either...).
Why is that?

Weird also: When I double click on my chart and then (!) try to record a macro, the corresponding label (under "Tools - Macros - Record Macro") is greyed out.
Anybody has an idea?
