I guess this is because the installer runs an uninstall routine then an installation routine. The jump lists and pinned documents are quite handy features in Windows 7, and this was quite frustrating.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering about checking the bug tracking database.

The jump lists still work, it's just that the jump list setup I had prior to the update was lost and now I'm rebuilding it.
