|
|
When opening a file in Calc that contains hyperlinks, I get a nag screen informing me that "This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?"
How to I turn of this annoying nag? (In Calc and for all other document types containing hyperlinks?) |

Hyperlinks do not initiate such a request.
You have links to other sheets or to external data in your Calc document.
See Edit>Links... menu... you can Break Link to finalize the data (loose the dynamic link).
Your data will not be updatable anymore... and no more questioning.
Does this help? _________________ Cheers

You bet that helped. Breaking the link solved the problem. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have no idea how that link got into the document. I authored the document and all I ever entered (I thought) were hyperlinks. |

To answer the original question and for those who came here via Google like myself, here's a walkthrough how to get rid of the prompt. It's about Writer but it's the same in Calc.
I don't understand how a modal prompt at file opening can be the default setting for anything. When I open a file I want to work in it right away. "Always update" should be the default, those links are supposed to be live. Or at least make it nonmodal. |
