different first page header - closing problem

I have set a document to have a different header on the first page. It is fine until I save/ close the document which then looses the settings. When I open again - the header for all pages is the same as the first.

Can anyone suggest what the problem is.

Save you document as a template. See http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=1161 . You can make it the default if needed as explained in the link.

Use the First Page page style for that page then all the rest will use the Default page style. The content of the header is a property of the page style.

You can expect that kind of trouble if you save your file in Word's format. What happens if you save as odt?
