Hi all,

I would to know if I can define 'validation rule' and 'validation text' in OpenOffice (like in Access).

I need the input for the user must be between 10 and 20, and if it's out of the range show persalized message, for example.

As I have seen, it's not possible at table design level, the only way I've seen is by using the properties 'min value' and 'max value' in a 'formatted textfield' (form)... is there any other better way ?

And excuses by my english again.

As far as I know this functionality is very limited in Base, as you've outlined. But at the form level, each 'control' (textbox, formatted-field, etc.) includes several 'events' which could be used to run a macro in order to add the functionality (validation and popup messages) that you seek.

Otherwise, there may be a way to use a 'parameter query' in SQL to add the functionality at the form level...anyone?

And I'm guessing you could add the functionality with 'Java stored procedures' if you upgrade to HSQLDB 2.0.
