Remove protection Permanently while using OO Writer

Hi Genius ,
I am new to O O now. I am facing problem while working with writer. When I open a ms word document in OO.Its telling that its read-only and also its telling that its section protected.When i want to edit the same doc, i need to go for edit file then i have to go to protection and remove protection.Please let me know any solution for this.
