I installed the LO beta on my Mac. It sits as a separate app with OOo a little down the list. Can I, as a display of OpenSource patriotism, transfer the personal data from the OOo to the LO folders (e.g. my Preferences) without creating trouble for myself? Or is an overlaying reinstallation doable, given the simple Mac installation method? _________________ Hil |

Good question - When I installed under Linux the LO instance automatically picked up all my personal settings and moved them - didn't do that on the Mac I take it? _________________ Blog - http://baseanswers.spaces.live.com/ |

Didn't pick up my personal setting on a Windows installation.
Drew, were you previously using Go-OOo? |

Damn - your right ..
This box had Go-oo from the repo, OO.o Vanilla, OOoLight and OOo4Kids...the last three in parallel - it moved the settings from the system installed go-oo...
good catch _________________ Blog - http://baseanswers.spaces.live.com/ |

Looking for the Preferences data, I have dug through the Mac '.app' (bundled program files), the ~/Library/Application Support/ and /Library/Application Support and ../Preferences folders and found nothing of use. Anyone know if I could look anywhere else?
Well, with boundless faith in the future and the crashing of OOo, I thought 'the hell with this, I'll scrap OOo (never liked the name, anyway) and re-enter my Prefs. Did this and 10 minutes later, LO crashed too!
Now, I must decide, is this a LO, Mac or me issue? Do Mac users of OOo or NeoOffice (an offshoot) appear much in this forum? _________________ Hil |
